The Rodeo itself is a PRCA event and features Bull riding, saddle bronc riding, chuck wagon races, bareback riding and Ladie
barrell racing. One of the hugely popular rodeo events is the calf scramble where 28 students engage in a tussle of harnessing 14
calves. The student who manages to capture, harness and then bring the calf to the winners square walks away with the prize money.
To date multimillion dollars have been given out as scholarships and for research purposes.
