WEG Tickets - About

For the first time since their inception in 1990, the World Equestrian Games will be held outside of Europe, in Lexington Kentucky. Before 1990 different events in the championship were held separately, usually in different countries. Since 1990, eight disciplines have been combined into one Equestrian Championship event where the best riders in the world take part.

The WEG are held every four years. The athletes come from 57 countries in the world and showcase their talents for 16 days in events such as combined driving, endurance riding, eventing, dressage, reining, showjumping, vaulting and paraequestrianism.

This is also the first time the event will have a title sponsor, which in this case, is Alltech, an animal health and nutrition group. Other sponsors for FEI World Equestrian Games are Rolex, John Deere, Ariat International Inc., Meydan, and Road and Riddle Equine Hospital.

The Equestrian Games are administered by FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale).

The ground pass tickets go on sale sometime in April. Included in the ground pass for that selected day, will be other exciting displays and activities such as 250 show booths where people will be able to shop, as well as different exhibits, acts and the famous exibits and museums of Kentucky Horse Park Venue. Spectators will also be able to take advantage of different exhibits and clinicians present for educational purposes.
